Spring is here and we are continuing the restoration of the church building. Our contractor, Corey Ballweg of Mid Towne Construction, is working on the following projects this spring:
Insulation has been blown into the walls.
New windows and siding — with good weather they should be installed soon.
Electrical conduit has been hidden within the walls.
The building has been tucked tightly in with the addition of the metal flashing over the water table where the walls meet the foundation. It is going to take a really smart or fast church mouse to get in with this covering.
Steeple cracks will be sealed to prevent water leaking during rain.
The Middleton Fire Department will remove the weather-vane for repair, then will assist with re-installation.
The lightning rod system will be repaired.
Basement windows and window wells will be replaced.
These projects have been needed for many years – it’s wonderful to be finally getting them done!
